Confirm that lifeboats and davits perform as intended
Berth Marine specialises in tests and controls of lifeboats and davits. The tests follow international regulations and standards, including SOLAS and IMO guidelines, to confirm that this critical equipment is in good condition and able to perform in an emergency.
Amendments to the LSA Code on lowering speed, release hooks and lifejackets took effect on 1 January 2026. Read what lifeboat and davit owners should check.
Berth Marine service personnel are authorised by DENİZSAN Gemi Makine San. ve Tic. A.Ş. (authorisation certificate DS-BERTH-01, valid until 30 June 2030) to carry out inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of DENİZSAN davits, including free fall, rescue boat, fast rescue boat and pivoting lifeboat davits, in line with IMO MSC.402(96).

Load testing
Static and dynamic load tests, overload tests and overload release tests of lifeboats and davits.
Davit speed and operation
Evaluation of davit lowering speed and smoothness of operation, for quick and controlled launching.
Visual inspection
Thorough inspection for wear, corrosion or damage, so repairs are made before a failure.
Functional testing
Checks of release mechanisms, propulsion systems and communication devices.
Documentation
Test documentation for maritime authorities, class and insurance requirements.
Repair support
Hydraulic, mechanical and hook or release gear repair coordinated with our workshop.
