About this service

Prove the equipment can carry its test load

Davits, cranes and ladders that must be tested for overload are tested at regular intervals. Berth Marine carries out these overload tests using water weight bags and reports the result.

Water weight bags are filled with water to the required mass and lifted by the equipment under test, so the load can be applied without bringing solid test weights on board.

FAQ

Common questions

How is the test load applied?

Water weight bags are filled to the required mass and lifted by the davit, crane or ladder under test.

Can the test be combined with an inspection?

Yes. It is usually done together with the inspection of the same crane or davit, so the vessel needs only one attendance.

Need this service onboard?

Send the vessel, port and requirement. We confirm what we can attend and reply with a quotation.
